1. Bookings are for the studio space only. The booking does not come with a photographer. To book the studio + photographer, click HERE

2. Equipment and props are available in the space, but are not setup for you.

3. Bookings do not come with an assistant. If it is your first time in the studio, studio staff will be there for the first 10 minutes of your booking to give a brief tour.

1. First-time visitors will receive a brief orientation to the space and equipment

2. Handle all equipment with care and report any issues immediately

3. Return the studio to its original condition after your session; follow all closeout instructions listed on the Studio door

4. Do not modify permanent studio features without permission

5. Clients are responsible for any damage caused during their rental period

6. A minimum cleaning fee of $50 may be assessed if the studio is not left clean and orderly

7. Return all props and equipment to their rightful place, and charge any used batteries

8. Maximum capacity is 10 people per booking

9. Minors must be supervised by an adult at all times

10. The Studio is protected by video surveillance

11. The renter assumes full responsibility for themselves and all individuals who enter the studio during their rental period

Special Effects & Restrictions

1. No smoking inside the studio; violators will be charged a $500 fine per incident

2. No non-prescription or illegal drugs permitted; violators will be charged a $500 fine per incident

3. Anyone visibly intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances will be denied entry

4. Projects involving smoke require advance approval

5. Fireworks, pyrotechnics, and combustibles are strictly prohibited

6. Confetti is not permitted; violators will be charged a $50 fine per incident

7. Animals require advance approval

8. Special effects (fog machines, water, paint, etc.) require advance approval

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Rental Period

• Your booking time includes setup, shooting, and cleanup

• Access is permitted 5 minutes before your scheduled time; you must vacate 5 minutes after your booking ends

• Extensions beyond scheduled time may be available at our discretion if no booking follows yours

• Additional time can be requested by phone or text

• Time is calculated in 30-minute increments, rounded up

Cancellation Policy

No Refunds: All studio bookings are non-refundable. Once you've booked a session, payment is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel. Clients may cancel their bookings through their confirmation email or online account. No refunds will be issued.

Rescheduling Policy

Clients may reschedule their sessions through their confirmation email or online account according to the following schedule:

• 7+ days before session: Free rescheduling

• 3-6 days before session: $25 rescheduling fee

• 1-2 days before session: $50 rescheduling fee

• Less than 24 hours before: No rescheduling allowed

Additional Terms

• Limit of one reschedule per booking

• Rescheduled sessions must occur within 30 days of original booking date

• Premium and weekend time slots are subject to availability

• Rescheduling fees must be paid immediately through the payment link provided or the rescheduled session will be cancelled

• All rescheduling requests are subject to studio availability

No-Shows

Photographer Recommendations

Client Deposits

Studio 40E strongly recommends that photographers collect a non-refundable deposit from their clients equal to at least the studio booking fee. This practice protects photographers from financial loss when clients cancel sessions at the last minute. Since our cancellation policy applies to all studio bookings regardless of the reason, this deposit ensures you won't be left covering studio costs for no-show clients.

Sample Client Agreement Language

Photographers may wish to include language similar to the following in their client contracts:

"A non-refundable deposit of $____ is required to secure your session date and the studio rental. This deposit covers the cost of the studio rental and is not refundable under any circumstances, even if the session is rescheduled or canceled."

Studio Use Policies

Equal Access Statement

Our studio welcomes all clients regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status. All clients receive equal access to our facilities and services.

• Weapons of any kind without prior written authorization

Membership Terms

• Memberships are yearly recurring subscriptions

• Your credit card will be automatically charged each year until you cancel or membership is terminated

• You may cancel at any time before your subscription expires

• Subscription renewal date is one year after your sign-up date

• All purchases are final, regardless of used studio time

• No refunds will be issued for membership fees

• Members are subject to all regular booking terms and conditions

• To cancel your membership, you must do so before your subscription expiration date

Weather & Emergency Closures

If the studio must close due to severe weather or emergencies, you will receive a credit for rescheduling. If the studio remains open during inclement weather and you cannot attend, please contact us at least 12 hours before your booking.

Liability

The studio is not responsible for:

• Loss or damage to client equipment or personal belongings

• Personal injuries that occur on premises

• Items left at the studio (unclaimed items become studio property after 14 days)

Acceptance of Terms

By booking Studio 40E, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions outlined in this document. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Studio 40E.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Maryland.
